1. Wide receiver depth

Cleveland did revamp their wide receiver corps this offseason when they moved on from Jarvis Landry and elected not to re-sign Rashard Higgins. This was in addition to their in-season move to release Odell Beckham, Jr. — meaning there would be a lot of new faces in the passing game in 2022.

Those faces include veterans Amari Cooper and Jakeem Grant as well as rookie draft picks David Bell and Michael Woods II. There will also be a couple of undrafted rookies in the mix with Isaiah Weston and Mike Harley, Jr. being added in the offseason.

As for returning players, the Browns have third-year pro Donovan Peoples-Jones and second-year speedster Anthony Schwartz. A couple of other names to watch include Ja’Marcus Bradley and Demetric Felton who can play both running back and slot receiver.

While there are a lot of names there, the positions really aren’t set in stone. The only player who won’t be challenged for his spot is Cooper — who sits as the clear-cut No. 1. Cleveland is expecting Peoples-Jones to be the No. 2 option but he’s also not guaranteed a thing.

As for the rest, Bell is a sure-handed player who can perform in the slot but there’s no reason to think he couldn’t win a starting job if he continues to prove himself. Schwartz offers amazing speed which cannot be taught but he needs some refinement still.

One name that continues to be overlooked in all this is Grant, who is a stud return man, but could be a wildcard in the battle for the slot position.

There are several names in the hat right now which makes this whole group one of the most intriguing heading into camp this season.
