How is our backup situation along the offensive line if 1 or 2 starters go down? -@Maclawre

Both the starting unit and backup unit have a lot to do with the health of the right tackle Jack Conklin. If he is good to go the overall depth of the offensive line is in great shape, with Chris Hubbard also healthy and able to play four spots on the line the Browns look good. James Hudson made massive strides last season showing towards the end of the year exactly why the Browns drafted him.

Michael Dunn continued to show that as an interior lineman, especially in the run game, they were in good hands if one of the guards go down. Nick Harris seems ready to take the role but even if he goes down they brought in a veteran with plenty of experience in Ethan Pocic. Obviously, you don’t ever want to lose multiple starters but if they do, Cleveland should be able to manage.

Working under the assumption that Watson gets a minimum 4-game suspension how will training camp and preseason snaps be divided up/how do you see them managing this situation? @Roger1stCFalls

This is a really great question that I’m sure the Browns have begun planning for the moment they acquired Deshaun Watson. While yes Watson won’t start Week 1 in this scenario you also need to remember that he didn’t play football last year so he needs to shake off some rust.

If I had to guess they will approach it as if Watson isn’t suspended (assuming he doesn’t get a year suspension) up until at least the first preseason game. They will want to get him back into the feel of things and get the offense installed for him to take over when he returns.

Once you get to the preseason I think you will see Brissett slowly get more and more reps, with Dobbs getting the traditional number of third-string reps. Once the week of the final preseason game comes around I think it would make sense if they start giving Brissett the majority of the starter reps and let him run with the first team in the final preseason game.
