The Athletic’s Daniel Wallach appearing on the Faithful Dawgs Podcast made a prediction for how he thinks the Deshaun Watson discipline plays out.

The entire summer for the Cleveland Browns and their fans has been about speculating and wondering when they will see Deshaun Watson on the field.

Plenty of people have made their guesses on where the discipline will ultimately land, though none of us really know what independent arbitrator Sue Robinson is thinking.

Daniel Wallach is a gaming law and sports betting attorney and the founder of Wallach Legal and UNHLaw sports wagering. He’s considered one of the country’s foremost legal authorities in the field of sports gambling. He’s also The Athletic’s legal expert and the host of the podcast “Conduct Detrimental”.

Recently Wallach appeared on the Faithful Dawgs Podcast discussing the situation and made his prediction:

"“If I were wearing the judge’s hat, if I were considering this I would find that no games are warranted because of the burden of proof” – Daniel Wallach on the Faithful Dawgs Podcast"

The predictions this offseason have ranged from zero games all the way up to some suggesting an indefinite suspension. Wallach also talked about the NFL not punishing owners under the same personal conduct policy they are saying Watson violated.

Now just because others weren’t punished doesn’t mean you should let everyone off but it does hold significance with legal precedent in the eyes of a judge.

Wallach would go on to say:

"“What Sue Robinson is likely to do is something higher than that…first one out of the gate (case as arbiter) this is a very important ruling for her…I’m going to go with 8 games now a lot of this is speculation and guesswork but it’s also based on instincts.” – Daniel Wallach"

None of us truly know what Judge Robinson will decide and if either side will appeal her decision, so for now, we continue to wait.
