The Daily Dawg Tags have all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the social media team trolling the Bears new orange helmet

On Sunday, the Chicago Bears unveiled their new helmet design as teams are finally able to offer up alternates thanks to the NFL relaxing the one-helmet rule. Chicago’s new look got some attention since it’s a bright orange, and the best response came from the Cleveland Browns social media team.

Noticing the color, the Browns Twitter account simply said “oh nice helmet color. Where’d you get that idea?”

Looking at how the helmets are similar is one of the articles we dive into in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Browns social media trolls Bears over new orange helmet — Jared Mueller, Browns Wire

"“Earlier Sunday, the Chicago Bears unveiled their alternative helmet. Unlike many of the teams, the Bears went with an orange one. The Browns social media account took notice quickly.”"

In addition to the orange helmet, the Bears will be wearing an orange alternate, which is something the Browns should copy. Another thing Cleveland should do is look into their own alternate helmet.

Teams all around the league have been showing off their new designs, including the Panthers, Cardinals, and Jets all sporting black helmets. Some will argue that Cleveland’s traditional orange helmet shouldn’t be changed, but an alternate that can be worn twice per season hardly feels like a permanent change.

Browns land three players on PFF’s Top 50 list — Thomas Moore, Dawgs by Nature

"“Myles Garrett, Joel Bitonio and Nick Chubb all recognized as being among the league’s elite.”"

Cleveland is well represented on the top-50 list with these three star players. They could potentially have another once Deshaun Watson is on the field and has his suspension behind him, but that’s a discussion for another day.

Anyone laughing at Deshaun Watson contract should look at what Kyler Murray received

Throwing the off-field concerns to the side, there’s no way anyone can debate that Deshaun Watson isn’t a better quarterback than Kyler Murray. That’s why the people who laughed at Cleveland for paying Watson $230 million guaranteed need to only look at Murray’s deal to realize it’s a market deal they gave Watson.

Sure, it’s all guaranteed which isn’t the norm, but that could have been what they had to do in order to entice him to choose Cleveland since they were originally not in the running. Either way, a $230 million deal for a guy who led the league in passing during his last season is better than a $230 million deal for a quarterback who has yet to throw for 4,000 yards — and before throwing out Murray’s ability to run the ball, maybe watch some tape on Watson.

3 free agent wide receivers to target if David Bell injury lingers

David Bell started camp on the PUP list and while the team says it’s a minor injury, we have seen these linger. If that happens with the rookie wideout, here are three players the front office could turn to for some insurance.
