Grant Delpit – FS going into his 3rd NFL season

The final player to really keep an eye on during the Browns training camp in 2022 is Grant Delpit. The young but talented safety had a tough start to his career, missing his entire rookie season in 2020 due to injury.

He bounced back fairly nicely in 2021, playing in 15 games and starting seven of those. He finished that campaign with 66 total tackles and one interception.

There were many times during certain games where Delpit really stood out with elite closing speed and ball-hawking tendencies. This is an important camp for him to take a big step forward and become an elite playmaker on defense — while hopefully proving the Browns really did get a major steal in Round 2 back in 2020.

The coaching staff is very high on Delpit and they truly believe he can be a game changer on defense due to his versatility.

If Delpit can take that step, don’t be surprised if he makes his first Pro Bowl in 2022. The defense around him is very talented, so that helps a lot as well. He reportedly already had a very strong first day in camp, so keep an eye on his progress moving forward.
