The Cleveland Browns field at FirstEnergy Stadium appears to be getting a new look in time for the 2022 season.

Every year, NFL teams look for a way to excite fans about the upcoming season. This can be with hype videos about new players or training camp, among other things. The Cleveland Browns just did that, releasing a teaser video to kick off training camp that holds videos of equipment staff getting gear ready, players and coaches milling about, and players on the field practicing.

That wasn’t the only thing that was in that video, however. Fans took notice of one other easter egg that the Browns hid in the video – four new potential designs for the field at FirstEnergy Stadium. Two of these designs feature a beloved fan favorite, the return of the Browns’ old logo Brownie the Elf, at mid-field, replacing the Browns’ current helmet logo.

The other two still feature Brownie but instead put him in the endzone with the boldface “Browns” being the prominent centerpiece at both ends of the field.

While this was certainly put into the video with the intention of being noticed by fans, the social media team for the Browns sent out a tweet less than two hours after the original video was posted, opening up the four designs to a fan vote.

The interest to bring Brownie the Elf back to prominence has been shown quite a bit in the past few weeks by the organization, with the former logo being put on banners outside of fans’ entrances into training camp practices and even on the introduction to most of their latest videos. With retro looks being something a lot of society is bringing to present times, this could be the Browns’ way of doing just that.

If the team brings back the elf as a prominent logo on their field, is it possible that a change in the team’s official logo could also change to the elf once again?

With new alternate helmets being something many teams around the league are investing in, perhaps this opens the doors for the Cleveland Browns to do the same, while also making a large part of the audience that have long called for Brownie to make a reappearance happy.
