It looks as though the Cleveland Browns will finally know when Deshaun Watson will be available as a decision from Judge Sue Robinson is expected on Monday

Ever since Deshaun Watson joined the Cleveland Browns, he’s had one question hovering over him — how many games would he be suspended during the 2022 season?

When he first joined the Browns, Watson had 22 civil lawsuits pending with claims of sexual misconduct. That number grew to 24, but Watson and his legal team were able to settle 20 of those cases.

With four cases still to deal with in the courtroom, Watson already had his hearing with the NFL. Judge Sue Robinson was assigned the responsibility of hearing both sides of the argument and after several weeks of reviewing the evidence, she’s reportedly ready to give out a ruling on Monday.

What will the Deshaun Watson suspension be?

Speculation as to what punishment Watson will receive has varied from a short as a four-to-six game suspension and even as much as a year-long ban.

The league itself wanted an indefinite suspension with the ability to request reinstatement ahead of the 2023 season, but right now, it’s anyone’s guess what Judge Robinson will do.

What time will the punishment be announced?

While many outlets are reporting the punishment will be announced on Monday, Aaron Wilson went one step further, saying the ruling should be in by 9 a.m. Eastern time.

Will the ruling in Deshaun Watson be final?

While none of us know what the ruling will ultimately be, we do know things might not be finalized on Monday. If the league gets their way and Watson is suspended indefinitely, there will likely be an appeal from Watson — and the NFLPA has also been preparing a legal case using the hand slap handed out to owners for their violations as evidence of unfair treatment.

Should Judge Robinson issue a shorter ban, the league could decide to appeal, and if they do, they then get to decide the judgment. While that makes no sense, it’s what the NFLPA agreed to.

The only way this ends without any chance of a contest is if Watson receives no suspension because there would then be no ruling for the NFL to appeal.
