Prospect No. 4: Jermaine Burton, WR Alabama

Jermaine Burton will be a junior this next season and he actually played for the Georgia Bulldogs these past two years and has now transferred to Alabama. He had two good years with the Dawgs, but they didn’t use him enough in the passing game — and he’s ready for the spotlight at Alabama. Right now he’s projected to be drafted anywhere from the late first round through the second or third round.

The Browns have had a need to strengthen their wide receiver’s room and while they have added veteran Amari Cooper and recently drafted David Bell from Purdue, they will still need to keep building a solid group.

Burton started making a name for himself when he was a freshman. In a game against Mississippi State, he caught eight passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns. But since then, he never had another 100-yard game.

He did still have a few great moments. In the semifinal game for a chance at playing in the National Championship Game, Burton caught a 57-yard touchdown against the Michigan Wolverines.

Becoming an Alabama wide receiver will certainly put more exposure on the young player, and I suspect he will be a high draft pick next spring.
