The Cleveland Browns have had several players stand out so far but these four have disappointed to this point in training camp

It’s been a couple of weeks and a few padded practices for the Cleveland Browns — who are now one week away from their first preseason game of the new year.

There’s been a lot of coverage around Berea but not for what’s happening on the field. Instead, it’s all about the Deshaun Watson suspension and subsequent appeal.

While that in itself is disappointing, there have been a few other things at camp thus far that Cleveland would like to have seen go better for them.

Cleveland didn’t have a lot of depth at defensive tackle heading into the offseason and they didn’t go after any huge names. Instead, they signed Taven Bryan to a one-year deal and drafted Perrion Winfrey in the fourth round.

While both have talent, the front office was really hoping Tommy Togiai would take a step forward in his second season. His ability to anchor the line on rushing downs is going to be sorely needed for a team that primarily has interior rushers at tackle.

It’s still early in camp so there’s no reason to be alarmed but after a couple of padded practices, Togiai hasn’t jumped out yet. It might be a stretch to say he’s a disappointment but he’s got all the tools to be a very good defensive tackle and there’s a lot of hope he can start to put it together this season.
