It feels like the Cleveland Browns may be without their star quarterback for a chunk of 2022, these five overrated players will also bring down the roster.

Just two days after the Cleveland Browns believed the Deshaun Watson fiasco was behind them, the NFL has now appealed his suspension. The timeline is still unclear, but there’s once again a huge question mark as to who will be the starting quarterback.

I don’t think anyone doubts that the Browns move from contenders to pretenders without Watson, but the big question is how far they will drop. This roster has a ton of talent, but as Browns fans know more than anyone, it takes a quarterback to be competitive.

These five players have been severely overrated headed into 2022 and could be a major part of another disappointing season (assuming the Watson suspension is increased).

Overrated Player No. 5 – Harrison Bryant

In 2020 the Cleveland Browns picked Harrison Bryant in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.  Bryant had a ton of production in college but didn’t play an extremely difficult schedule. At 6-foot-5, he has the frame of an NLF tight end, but needs to pack on some muscle at only 230 pounds.

As a rookie, everyone was pleased with the stats as a secondary tight end with 24 catches and 238 yards. The issue was the decrease in production last year with only 21 catches and 233 yards. His biggest issue was getting on the field, Bryant quickly became the third tight end and just never got an opportunity.

While I agree with the release of Austin Hooper who never panned out, a lot of fans are expecting a big year from Bryant who will be the solidified second tight end behind David Njoku. I saw far too many drops last season and his inline blocking is still a liability. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m not sure he is going to be nearly as good as some hope.
