As the Cleveland Browns wrap up their first full week of camp and prepare for their first preseason game, these three questions are still unanswered.

With the first preseason game just a few days away, the Cleveland Browns are in full swing of preparing for the regular season. Training camp in Berea appears to be going just as planned, and the coaching staff is preparing for a deep playoff run.

General manager Andrew Berry has done a great job of adding talent to this roster. There’s a great mixture of young talent and a veteran presence that should set this locker room up for success. In a 17-game season, talent alone isn’t enough to win.

As we head to September and the Week 1 matchup vs. the Carolina Panthers, here are the three biggest questions remaining.

Question No. 3 – What depth will be at running back?

Coming into this season it felt like one of the deepest positions on the roster (and likely in the league) was at running back. With the one-two punch of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, not many teams had two elite backs on the roster.

That could all be changing soon as Hunt has requested a trade or contract extension.  He is due just over $6 million in 2022, which is the final year of his current three-year contract. For a guy who always gives so much love to Cleveland, he’s certainly applying pressure where he doesn’t have a ton of leverage.

Hunt has a troubled past, is on a team loaded at running back (even without him), and is in a league where running back is the least valued position on the offensive side of the ball. I can’t figure out why he wouldn’t just try and have a big year and earn bigger money in free agency next year.

Hunt is only 27 years old and has a lot of life left, but he has had injuries in three of his first five years in the league. You have to keep guys happy, but I expect to see Hunt play on the final year of his deal, even if he isn’t thrilled about it.
