The Cleveland Browns face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday night and there are several players to be pumped up to watch

The Cleveland Browns kick off their preseason games Friday night down in Jacksonville versus the Jaguars. The news has come out that most of the team’s starters will be getting the start of this first game and that’s exciting for many fans of the team.

Will we see new quarterback Deshaun Watson take the field? It’s been reported that he was making the trip down to Florida and was anticipating starting the game out. It would be the first time that Watson has played in a game since the close of the 2020 season when he still played for the Houston Texans.

There are many new players joining the Browns this season and it’ll be our first look at many of them. One of the players that I was most excited to watch this season was Jakeem Grant who was here to run punt and kickoffs back. Unfortunately, the savvy and speedy veteran went down with a serious knee injury this week and will miss the season. Despite the loss of Grant, there are many other players to get us all excited to cheer on our favorite team as we sit down Friday night to get a look at our 2022 Cleveland Browns.

5 players we are excited to watch in Week 1 preseason opener

Player No. 5: Cade York, K

We love our kickers in Cleveland, but we haven’t had a good one since Phil Dawson.

Cade York was drafted in the fourth round out of LSU this season and every day, social media platforms are filled with York videos of him kicking field goals of 45 or 50 yards. That’s nice to see, but I’ll remind everyone that this is just a practice he’s kicking these field goals at. There’s a huge difference when the real games start and he’s kicking in front of thousands of people.

York doesn’t have any competition in this training camp — meaning, the job is his. From what we hear, York is a confident kid and can absorb the pressure of the moment, but it’ll be interesting to see how things actually play out in the regular season.

For now, I expect to see that football fluttering between the uprights for extra points and field goals. The eyes of Cleveland will all be on York and that he’s making those points count.
