Player No. 3: David Bell, Wide Receiver

Rookie wideout David Bell is looking to become an integral part of the Browns offense this season. He played at Purdue in college and was an outstanding wide receiver. His skill set at the position makes him must watch for the game on Friday. He had been injured earlier this training camp but has been back practicing with the team this last week.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bell plays and how many snaps he gets. He’s likely going to play in the slot position and take the role that former wide receiver Jarvis Landry had with the team.

Is he ready to take on that role yet? Some have speculated that the team is still considering a few free agent wide receivers, especially since the aforementioned Jakeem Grant went down with a serious knee injury. While Grant was expected to run back kick returns, he was also penciled in as a wide receiver.

As for Bell, he practically never dropped passes in college — a trait that followed him into the NFL. Before being injured, there was no shortage of comments about how he caught everything that was within reach.

He’s also known for his smooth and precise route running. While he didn’t run the fastest 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine, he wins with his knowledge and precision.

Hopefully, we’ll get a glimpse of his talents Friday night.
