No. 3 – Drew Forbes, Offensive Lineman

It wasn’t long ago that Drew Forbes seemed like the steal of the 2019 draft as a round-six pick. But unfortunately, injuries and a COVID-19 season have led to a real struggle in his development. In fact, Forbes has only seen the field on special teams for browns in his two seasons where he was available.

The biggest reason that Forbes won’t make this roster is the depth at guard. Not only do the Browns have the best tandem starters in the league, but Michael Dunn, Blake Hance, and Chris Hubbard will also likely lock up the back roles.

I’d like to see Forbes get a shot; he is an extremely athletic guy who fits the zone scheme perfectly, but I see the Browns moving on. With all the injuries they face last year at tackles, guys like Dunn, Hance, and Hubbard who have the versatility to move outside if necessary are going to have the leg up.

A team with a lack of depth at guard will certainly take a shot on Forbes. The former college tackle moves well and was rated highly as a run blocker. His biggest concern coming into the league was his ability to stop the bull rush. While he never developed in Cleveland, a fresh start could be what’s best for Forbes.
