Stud: David Bell, WR

Cleveland’s offense was a problem throughout the first half, but David Bell ended up being a bright spot. As they looked to move down the field before the half, Bell made three catches for 36 yards on three targets on the same drive.

Passes to anyone else seemed to be an issue as there were two incompletions to both Donovan Peoples-Jones and Anthony Schwartz. The only other reception came courtesy of D’Ernest Johnson, who went for four yards on a screen but an illegal shift erased that play. Those ended up being the only receptions of the night for Bell, but he showed that he can be counted on — which is more than we can say for some of the other pass-catchers on this team.

Dud: Jacoby Brissett, QB

The preseason finale ended up being the first chance for Browns fans to see Jacoby Brissett, who is set to start the first 11 games of the season. The former third-round pick had a forgettable debut, to say the least.

His first two drives were three-and-outs and he had three total in the first half. The two longest drives he led included a 35-yard drive on 10 plays and a 37-yard drive, also on 10 plays.

Both ended with Cade York kicking a field goal, missing the first from 58 and making the second from 57-yards.

Brissett finished the night with 109 yards but was just 13-of-23 passing with no touchdowns and one pick. It wasn’t an ideal night for his debut with the Browns and the hope now has to be that he got the rust out before Week 1 of the regular season.
