Staying in New York, we have Denzel Mims who was a second-round pick out of Baylor in 2020. As a rookie with the Jets, he showed promise, hauling in 23 receptions for 357 yards. However, he took a step backward in 2021, catching just eight passes for 133 yards.

Mims has yet to catch his first NFL touchdown pass but calling him a bust might be premature. Instead, he just hasn’t seemed to be a great fit with New York but there are plenty of teams that could use his services.

While the Jets have said they don’t plan on releasing him, Mims has expressed a desire to go somewhere he can get more chances. After saying as much, he then went out and had a great performance in the preseason finale, going for 91 yards and a touchdown.

Following the performance, Mims said he was “hungry” and wanted the rest of the NFL to see how he can perform when the ball comes his way.

"“I’m hungry,’’ he said according to Mark Cannizzaro of the NY Post. “I just wanted to go out there and show everyone what I can do.’’"

Mims is another player who would help Cleveland open up their passing attack. He’s averaging nearly 16-yards per catch so far in his career and that’s after averaging 15.7 throughout his time at Baylor.
