On Monday, it was announced that the Carolina Panthers just swung a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars to bring in Laviska Shenault. A former second-round pick, Shenault joins a roster that already has D.J. Moore, Robbie Anderson, Shi Smith, and Rashard Higgins. There’s also Terrace Marshall, Jr. who they took in the second round last season out of LSU.

Marshall appeared in 13 games for Carolina and caught 17 passes for 138 yards with no touchdowns. It wasn’t a great rookie campaign for him but the Panthers’ aerial attack was suspect for much of the season.

Sam Darnold started out hot but then cooled off in a hurry. They also brought back Cam Newton, who looked nothing like the Cam Newton who took Carolina to the Super Bowl in 2015.

Even with that being said, the Panthers are clearly not sold on Marshall or they wouldn’t have been adding more depth. Perhaps that means he could be on the way out and the Browns might want to call and see if another deal can be struck. Not long ago, Cleveland sent Baker Mayfield to the Panthers, and now maybe they can get a pass catcher from them.

The Browns reportedly liked Marshall in the 2021 NFL Draft and they could potentially land him now at a much better value, while still addressing a huge need.
