The Cleveland Browns prove their roster is loaded with talent is the recent Madden 23 simulation, but we can’t forget one major loophole.

In a recent simulation for Madden 23, a few of the outcomes are a bit surprising. Matthew Liebl was quick to point out that Cleveland Browns fans may not want to overreact. While the game shows the Browns finishing the season at 11-6 and being the five seed in the 2023 playoffs, Deshaun Watson played in every single game.

As we all know, Watson is suspended for the first 11 games. So, the 4,500 passing yards and 41 touchdowns he racked up during the season are going to be a bit from the actual production. Jacoby Brissett certainly has some talent, but if he threw for anywhere near that pace over the first 11 games, fans would be shocked.

It will come as no surprise that the mock has the AFC North loaded. The Ravens finished 12-5, the Bengals at 10-7, and the Steelers at the basement at 6-11. Truth be told, I believe Pittsburgh could be a big shock with Mitch Trubisky at quarterback. With a strong defense, no one should be sleeping on these guys.

What’s the good news here? The team still gets to play the game. While 11-6 would likely be a best-case scenario for this season, who’s to say that Brissett won’t come out and shock the world? If the roster is able to stay healthy, there are 21 other guys (other than the quarterback) that can help this team win games.

Brissett will be in a quarterback-friendly system with a strong running game and an elite defense.  Remember, this team won 10 games in 2020 with Baker Mayfield. I’m not here to bash Mayfield, but I think the argument could be made that Brissett isn’t as far behind him as some may think.

I love reading articles that have the Browns winning lots of games, but this one has pretty big asterisks with Watson playing the full season.
