After sluggish starts to seasons for nearly two decades, the Cleveland Browns have a shot to start 2022 2-0. These 3 players will be key.

For the first time since 1993, the Cleveland Browns are working to move to 2-0. It had been nearly two decades since they won an opening game but moving to 2-0 without Deshaun Watson would be a huge accomplishment. In the AFC, which is absolutely loaded, beating the Jets (which is very winnable) is crucial to even have a shot at the playoffs.

Cleveland had moments of good, bad, and ugly on both sides of the ball last Sunday. Hopefully, some of the rust is now off, and we will see some much better football on Sunday. With Brownie the Elf claiming the 50-yard line, hopefully, an excited home crowd will lead this team to victory.

The home-field advantage is great, but a few guys are going to have to play well. Here are three Browns that will be key to a 2-0 start, and the all-important home opener win.

Browns Key to Victory No. 3: Myles Garrett

It’s always easy to say your best player is the key to a victory, and nothing is different this week vs. the Jets. With Joe Flacco getting the start of struggling in week one, Myles Garrett can quickly set the tone to speed up his internal clock.

Garrett was dominant last Sunday creating lots of pressures and registering two sacks. At this point, I’m not sure there is anyone in the league that can block him one on one. If the Jets move all their attention to Garrett, don’t worry, Jadeveon Clowney will be on the other side ready to pick up the slack.

Cleveland needs to crowd the line of scrimmage early and set the tone that they will be the aggressor. The defense has a chance to be dominant once again on Sunday and Garrett could easily snag another two sacks which would put him at four for the year.
