Round 3: Cedric Tillman, WR, Tennessee

Amari Cooper has been everything the Browns expected and more. In his first three games, he has 19 receptions for 219 yards with two touchdowns — and most of that has come in the past two games after he was running free in Week 1 but Jacoby Brissett missed him on a couple of occasions.

As good as Cooper has been, Donovan Peoples-Jones has done practically nothing over the past two weeks and rookie David Bell has just three catches for 12 yards. Another player who has done very little is Anthony Schwartz, who has one catch and two rushes for a total of 39 yards.

Eventually, the Browns will need someone who can be a legitimate No. 2 wide receiver which is why they take advantage of Cedric Tillman still being on the board here. Tillman had a huge junior season for the Tennessee Volunteers, pulling down 64 receptions for 1,081 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He’s started out well in 2022 with 17 catches for 246 yards and a score but hasn’t been as explosive. That could be why he’s still on the board here, and if that happens come the real draft, Cleveland needs to run to the podium and add the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder to their receiver corps.

Round 4: Tony Grimes, CB, North Carolina

Greedy Williams is again on the IR and is likely out of chances. Even without him, the Browns have been solid at cornerback with Denzel Ward, Greg Newsome, Martin Emerson, and A.J. Green. However, they’ve had a lot of concerns with durability with Ward and Newsome, so adding more depth is a smart move.

That’s why the first of two picks they have in Round 4 is used to bring in Tony Grimes from North Carolina. The 6-foot-0, 195-pound Grimes is great on the boundary and has the tools to be a lockdown corner with the right coaching.
