No. 3: Falcons Lack of Wide Receiver Depth

The Browns secondary still has some things to figure out, but this week shouldn’t be too much of a struggle as the Falcons lack depth at the wideout position.

Rookie Drake London has lived up to the hype thus far, as he leads Atlanta with 16 receptions, 214 yards, and a pair of touchdowns. He is arguably the early front runner for NFL Rookie of the Year, but that is only based on a small sample size.

Outside of London, the Falcons don’t have many other options for quarterback Marcus Mariota to throw to. Olamide Zaccheaus and former Browns wideout KhaDarel Hodge have a combined 13 catches for 214 yards and one touchdown.

Luckily for Atlanta, they have second-year tight end Kyle Pitts who is basically another receiver, catching nine passes for 125 yards on the young season. Luckily for Cleveland, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith has yet to figure out how to fully maximize Pitts’ skillset.
