2. Chubb and Hunt top 100-yards

After five games, the Cleveland Browns are again the No. 1 rushing attack in the NFL. They have the second most attempts with 180 and the most yards with 962. They’re averaging 5.3 per attempt and have 10 touchdowns.

For as good as they have been — and as committed to the ground game as they are — there are still constant cries for the Browns to run the ball more. Again, they have run more than 30 teams in the league, but in order to remain effective, they have to at least have the threat of a pass.

Thankfully, they have done that — even with a backup in Jacoby Brissett who has 1,060 yards and five touchdowns thus far. Having said all of that, this prediction is that Cleveland gives the fans what they want as they hand the rock to Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt early, and often.

New England isn’t bad against the run, ranking just outside of the top 10 but they haven’t met an attack like this one in 2022. And even though they were blown out last year when these two faced off, the Browns still had 99 yards on 19 carries from D’Ernest Johnson.

As long as they keep from being blown out — which they should, especially if the mid-round rookie is starting — Cleveland should double those carries and keep the Patriots on the sideline, and out of a rhythm. With that philosophy, both Chubb and Hunt should cross the 100-yard plateau.
