The Cleveland Browns host the New England Patriots in Week 6. Here are the early odds as well as a prediction for the rematch from the 2021 season.

At 2-3, the Cleveland Browns desperately need some positive momentum to get the 2022 season back on track. No, things aren’t unsalvagable and the season isn’t over, but it’s been more than a quarter of the way through the year and the same issues continue to doom them in the final 15 minutes of each game.

They know this is the time for adjustments, which is why general manager Andrew Berry went out and added Deion Jones and Tyeler Davison this week. Neither player will have a huge impact this weekend, if they do even play, but there was some positive news when it was announced on Wednesday that Jones was activated.

Their first chance at turning the corner comes in Week 6 as they host the New England Patriots, a team that blew them out by a score of 45-7 a year ago. Cleveland looks for some revenge but what do the oddsmakers say, and who will come out on top?

Browns vs. Patriots Odds Week 6

Despite their struggles, Cleveland enters this game as a three-point favorite. New England hasn’t been great this season, as they’re also 2-3, and despite shutting out the Lions in Week 5, they still have a mid-round rookie under center. As long as Bailey Zappe is starting, the Browns are likely to be favored.

As for the moneyline, Cleveland is at -148 and the Pats sit at +126. The over/under as of Wednesday is 43.5 points.

Browns vs. Patriots Prediction Week 6

The past two games have been frustrating for the Browns. They couldn’t stop the Atlanta Falcons or Los Angeles Chargers on the ground. The Pats also come in off their best ground-game performance of the year, gashing the Lions for 176 yards on the ground.

That’s not the best omen for the Browns but the fact that they seem willing to go out and make some moves shows they’re going to be stressing run defense this week. There could also be some more motivation for the current D-tackle group who knows they could be losing snaps.

With that being the case, look for Cleveland’s defense to sell out on the run and force New England to win through the air. That should play in their favor as they win a close one.

Prediction: Browns 23, Patriots 20
