3 Cleveland Browns to watch vs. Ravens: Nick Chubb needed in Week 7
By John Suchan
1. John Johnson III, Safety
One of the defensive leaders for the Browns is John Johnson III and earlier this week he brought up the idea that some players on the team have not been committed to playing their best. The critical remarks are a bit of a surprise because Johnson has been observed on multiple plays throughout the season in giving little effort himself and helping cost his team touchdowns and ultimately losses.
To further add to his criticism of his teammates he went on to suggest he played one of his better games, despite the defense getting torched in a 38-15 loss against the Patriots. It’s difficult to listen to players like Johnson boast about their own talents when their team is struggling.
It will be interesting to watch Johnson’s play against the Ravens as they will likely try to target him because of his overall bad play to this stage of the season. Watch in this clip provided by Jake Burns of the OBR Film Breakdown Report of Johnson’s poor play (He’s No. 43):
Johnson tried sounding like a leader in this latest media interview, but it won’t sit very well with his teammates if he goes out and lays another egg.
