1. These guys know what’s at stake

At 2-4, it feels as though the season is over. But that’s not remotely close to being true and the players in Berea understand this.

While speaking with the media, many of them discussed the opportunity they have in front of them over the next two weeks. Behind the Ravens and Bengals by just one game, Cleveland will play those teams back-to-back, and two wins could suddenly have them sitting pretty in the AFC North.

Of course, they can’t get ahead of themselves. The focus needs to be on Baltimore in Week 7 and Joel Bitonio said this team understands what’s at stake for them.

Bitonio also discussed the effort given by his teammates after this was called into question in their loss to New England. The starting left guard said he doesn’t believe there’s an issue with the players trying but echoed a sentiment shared by John Johnson that something has to change, and it begins with preparation.

The Browns understand that they’ve been underperforming but the Ravens have as well. Cleveland has also struggled to close out games, but again, so have the Ravens.

All of these reasons put together mean the Browns have a shot to upset Baltimore in Week 7. And if they do, there will be a new feeling of hope in Berea.
