4 Panthers the Cleveland Browns should trade for amid fire sale

2. Tommy Tremble, Tight End
Kevin Stefanski loves utilizing tight ends, and they’re finally getting David Njoku involved as much as he should have been all along. The sixth-year veteran has 37 receptions for 347 yards and one touchdown as he’s on track for the most productive season of his career. This is without even getting into how much he’s improved as a blocker.
Simply put, he’s one of the top all-around players at his position. Behind him, they have Harrison Bryant, a former fourth-round pick who is in his third season in the league. Bryant has been put into a more prominent role this year after Austin Hooper was released and he hasn’t really stood out. In six games, he has 12 receptions for 99 yards but is averaging just 8.3 yards per reception.
It’s not as if he’s been poor by any means, but it wouldn’t hurt to get another player on the roster to push him. Right now, the third tight end is Pharaoh Brown, who is on his second stint with Cleveland. If they’re interested in an upgrade there, Tommy Tremble would make a lot of sense.
A third-round pick from Notre Dame in 2021, Tremble is an athletic tight end that has yet to be used to his potential. He had 20 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown as a rookie — and was given the ball three times as a runner where he put up 11 yards and one touchdown.
So far in year two, he has just five catches for 42 yards. Of course, a huge part of the problem has been Matt Rhule who has struggled to utilize both Tremble and Ian Thomas.
That means a fresh start could be all it takes to help Tremble to reach his ceiling. And Cleveland could be where he finds that fresh start.
