Browns vs. Bengals: 5 bold predictions for Halloween night
By Randy Gurzi
1. Browns will have some new contributors
It’s been all over the rumor mills that Cleveland could be trading away some veteran players at the Nov. 1 deadline. Greedy Williams and Kareem Hunt have been the top names in the rumor mill but there’s an outside chance someone such as Jack Conklin could also find a new home.
Whether the Browns find partners before Sunday or not — the chances of moving Hunt took a hit when the Jets landed James Robinson — there should be some new faces on the field this Monday. Knowing the deadline is the day after their game with the Bengals, Cleveland could elect to sit some players they could be interested in trading as they aim to keep them healthy.
With that being said, the most likely scenario is they make their moves before the game. And even with Robinson heading to New York for next to nothing, Hunt is the player that seems most likely to be on the move, with the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being the primary landing spots.
If so, D’Ernest Johnson would get plenty of snaps and he had some success at the end of 2021 against the Bengals. In Week 18, he got the start and had 123 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. In all, he had 534 yards and three touchdowns on 100 rushes.
So far in 2022, Johnson has just two receptions and no rushing attempts. That could change this weekend.
