Browns vs. Bengals: Prediction and odds for Monday Night Football in Week 8
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns host the Cincinnati Bengals on Halloween. Here are the odds for the game as well as a prediction of the outcome.
It’s the first and only appearance on Monday Night Football this season for the Cleveland Browns as they host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8. As fate would have it, that game falls on Halloween night as the in-state rivals meet for the first time this season.
Cincinnati is coming into the game with a 4-3 record and has won two in a row — as well as four of their last five following an 0-2 start. Cleveland, on the other hand, has lost four in a row and is 2-5.
The Bengals are also trying to defend the AFC title after making it to the Super Bowl last season. While they nearly won it all, they were unable to knock off the Browns last year and that doesn’t sit well with some of the players in Cincy. That extra motivation could come into play, but it’s not something that should affect the odds too much, which we will now dive into.
Browns vs. Bengals Odds Week 8
Cleveland is a 3.5-point underdog heading into the game and has a moneyline of +164 compared to -196 for the Bengals. The over/under as of Thursday morning is 47 points.
Browns vs. Bengals Prediction Week 8
These two teams have both underperformed based on expectations entering the season but the Bengals are heading in the right direction whereas the Browns seem to be getting worse by the day. They’re also now trying to trade off some key players such as Kareem Hunt and Greedy Williams as they’re apparently eyeing the future.
With all that being said, Cincinnati should be favored in this one. They’re the more stable team and feel like the safe pick. However, Cleveland hung tight with the Ravens and could have won if the refs didn’t make a couple of questionable calls late.
In this one, look for the Browns to surprise us all with an upset over Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
Prediction: Browns 24, Bengals 23
