Cleveland Browns: 3 reasons to give Nick Chubb the ball more

No. 1: The Chubb and Hunt combo isn’t working
The fact is the Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt dual threat that’s been talked about and used for the past several seasons has run its course. Put a fork in it. It’s not working and it’s hurting the team now.
Yes, the two running backs have a wealth of talent, and each brings his own style of running. But now the swamping out of each on alternating offensive series is stalling a lot more. Hunt has been especially ineffective in his recent games.
In Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens, Hunt came into the game on the third offensive possession. He went on to get tackled twice on the first two downs and lost a total of nine yards. He recovered a bit later in the game but after watching Chubb shred the Ravens’ defense in the first two offensive possessions, it was a real setback to the team moving the ball.
Hunt’s name has been circulating in sports headlines this past week because of the possibility that he could be traded by the Nov. 1 trade deadline. Hunt is likely on the move to another team anyways at the end of the season because the Browns have indicated they aren’t interested in resigning him.
Why continue to try and force something like this Chubb and Hunt project when it’s obvious that it’s over? The two players have discussed the fact that they have liked being teammates and Chubb has said he’d be unhappy if Hunt were traded or left in free agency this offseason. But this game is a business and it’s time to put a wrap on things.
