The 2022 season has been a disappointment so far for the Cleveland Browns let’s look at 3 players however who have been pleasant surprises.

The Cleveland Browns entered their bye week after a massive win against the rival Bengals in primetime. To be able to put together a complete game for the first time all season before the week off could be significant for this group.

They now have the chance to get healthy, regroup, and figure out if they can make a late-season run. Let’s look at three players that have been better than expected this season.

No. 3: Ethan Pocic, Center

There were plenty of questions about the team’s decision to let veteran center JC Tretter go after the 2021 season. The team was high on former fifth-round pick Nick Harris and wanted to save cash but they lost Harris on the second snap of the preseason.

Enter backup and former high draft pick Ethan Pocic who has been everything you could have asked for.

Pocic is a former high pick that was not resigned by the Seahawks and was brought in to just be a backup and plenty were concerned when he got the starting job. Pocic however has really helped to create one of the better offensive lines in football yet again. He moves well in the Browns scheme that asks all of their linemen to move in space to be successful.

The team knew that Pocic would be a nice veteran backup option but he has been great in both the pass and run game exceeding all expectations. He has played so well that some are already calling for the team to extend him long-term, everything you could hope for in a free-agent signing.
