It’s hard to find any player that has exceeded expectations more than Jacoby Brissett has this season for the Browns. Knowing he was there to start while Deshaun Watson was suspended, Brissett was still able to come in and earn the respect of his teammates.

He’s been a steadying force on offense and while he was supposed to be a game manager that leaned on the defense, he’s had to do more since Cleveland’s defense has been a mess.

In the first eight games, Brissett has completed a personal best 63.9 percent of his attempts with 1,862 yards and seven touchdowns. Over the past three games, he’s thrown for at least 250 yards and had 278 in their win over the Bengals.

Overall, the offense has been incredibly efficient and while Brissett isn’t blowing anyone away with his numbers, he’s been doing his job and keeping the offense competitive. With that being said, it would be great to have him back in 2023 as the No. 2 guy behind Watson. And if we’re being honest, Brissett is likely a No. 2 quarterback but there will be some teams out there desperate for an experienced quarterback they can turn to.

That’s why it’s a safe bet that he will find a new home in 2023 and he’s going to use the remainder of this season — likely just three games for him — to prove he should be brought in to either compete for a job or serve as a bridge starter for a team that drafts a rookie.
