No. 3 – Myles Garrett continues his tear and lifts the defense

I’ll be the first to cheer when I’m right, but I also must admit when I’m wrong about something. To start the season Myles Garrett was not impressing me. Hear me out on this, I’m not saying he wasn’t still our best defensive player, but I wasn’t seeing MVP-caliber plays. He got his pressures here and there, but he wasn’t making that clutch play.

In the last three games not only has he stepped up his run defense, but he has 4.5 sacks to go along with a ton of other pressures. He had a strip sack vs. the Patriots and wreaked havoc on Joe Burrow last Monday Night.

Tua Tagovailoa won’t be easy to bring down with his athleticism but getting pressure on him early can be a huge benefit. Even though he has the ability to run around and make plays, there is no doubt he would prefer to sit in the pocket without pressure and make plays.

Look for Joe Woods to stay creative in getting Garrett to the quarterback. Multiple stunts in the last two weeks have freed Garrett from double teams and made him extremely productive. Getting one sack vs. Tagovailoa would be huge, but I think you could see him with another multiple-sack game this week in Miami.
