Hjalte Froholdt has filled in well for the Browns without Teller
By Jacob Roach
With all-pro right Guard Wyatt Teller sidelined with injury the Browns have turned to Hjalte Froholdt who has stepped up big for the team.
The Cleveland Browns, like any team around the league, have had their fair share of injuries this season. When all-pro guard Wyatt Teller went down there was plenty of reason to be concerned about how they would replace a player of his magnitude. Though he isn’t the same caliber of player, Hjalte Froholdt has stepped in and been a decent player in Teller’s absence.
Being able to turn to a player like Froholdt in a pinch and keep a high level of play on the offensive line is a luxury for the Browns. Some of his pass protection could be better as he has allowed two sacks in his time but overall it has been league-average.
The run game is where he has been his best which has been crucial for this team that’s offense goes through the run game first and foremost. Even if Wyatt Teller returns this week against the Miami Dolphins the peace of mind of knowing you have a player like Froholdt available just in case is a luxury.
The Browns continue to be able to identify, acquire, and develop offensive linemen time after time. Though there is a dropoff they always have guys that can come in and at least give them competitive snaps.
Offensive line coach Bill Callahan and company deserve every penny they are currently making as the Browns line continues to be a vital reason the offense has succeeded in 2022.
