Cleveland Browns mock draft post Deshaun Watson debut
By Jacob Roach
Round 5, Pick 131- Cooper Beebe, Offensive Tackle, Kansas State
With tackles Jack Conklin and Chris Hubbard likely in their final season with the Browns they will likely turn to the draft for some depth. Cooper Beebe has started games at every offensive line position other than center while at Kansas State. He has great size at 6-foot-4 322 pounds and moves well for a guy of his size. His versatility and experience would be valuable for whoever takes him in the draft.
Round 5, Pick 148- Sean Tucker, Running Back, Syracuse
Just like offensive tackle, the Browns are likely to let both D’ernest Johnson and Kareem Hunt walk and will be in need of more depth at the position. Tucker has been a workhorse for the Syracuse Orange the last two seasons finishing in 2021 with 1,496 yards and over a thousand yards again in 2022. Tucker is a smaller change of pace back that could be nice to have if injury strikes.
Round 6, Pick 187- Ivan Pace Jr., Linebacker, Cincinnati
Pace Jr. started his collegiate career at Miami (OH) before transferring to the University of Cincinnati before the 2022 season. He has been a tackling machine the last two years as a starter with 125 tackles in 2021 and then 119 tackles this season. He is quick, smart, and strong and is exactly what you want from your middle linebacker.
Round 7, Pick 232- Karl Brooks, Defensive Tackle, Bowling Green
Karl Brooks brings the pass rush to the defensive tackle room and could be a good pairing with Myles Garrett. This season for the Falcons Brooks has 18 tackles for loss as well as 10 sacks after having 12.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in 2021. Coming from a smaller school there will be a big adjustment but he has shown he has the tools as an interior pass rusher.
