Reports say Kevin Stefanski is safe in 2023 but could the Cleveland Browns decide to make a move and go after Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh?

Following a 7-10 finish for the Cleveland Browns, there will be plenty of speculation about the future of head coach Kevin Stefanski. He won the NFL Coach of the Year award in 2020 but now has finished the last two years with a losing record.

In their last game of the 2022 season, the offense looked beyond inept as they were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers. There are reports that Stefanski is safe but Jimmy Haslam has been known to be impulsive — and this was quite possibly the worst way to end the season with such an owner.

With that being the case, Alec Sapolin of Cleveland 19 News poses an interesting question, asking if the Browns should go after Jim Harbaugh if they did decide Stefanski was not the right man for the job.

Harbaugh is currently the coach for Michigan, and with many Cleveland fans also die-hard Ohio State fans, they might not like the idea. But is it a bad thought?

Harbaugh, who is considering a return to the NFL, had plenty of success with the San Francisco 49ers. He even took them to the Super Bowl, where he faced his brother, Jon Harbaugh, who is the coach of the Baltimore Ravens

Would Jim Harbaugh even consider the Browns?

Therein lies the main roadblock in Harbaugh even considering the Browns as a possible landing spot. While he and his brother are competitive and seemed to enjoy facing off in the Super Bowl, it would be completely different for them to be in the same division and face one another twice per season.

Of course for fans, it could be a lot of fun to see but don’t expect it to happen — even if Stefanski winds out being let go.
