No. 2 – Browns Offensive Line

Everyone loves to watch quarterbacks throw the ball all over the field, but most NFL games are won in the trenches, and that is the area where the Browns are the weakest on each side of the ball. I so badly wanted to put receiving as a higher priority than the offensive line, but after the Steelers slaughtered our pass protection on Sunday enough is enough.

Jedrick Wills continues to be sporadic in his play, with the end of his season not being his best work. Wyatt Teller is an elite run blocker, but really struggles in pass protection, and James Hudson who many thought would be a starter next year looks lost with Jack Conklin once again injured.

I know Wills was the No. 10 overall pick and I know Joel Bitonio is loved by all fans of the Cleveland Browns, but it’s time to look in the mirror and see that there are some real issues, especially trying to run the style of offense that suites Watson.

Coaching is extremely important in the NFL, and I believe Bill Callahan is still an elite offensive line coach. But, for whatever reason, he is struggling with the crew that he has now. I don’t expect Berry to pick up the fifth-year option for Wills, and don’t be shocked if the Browns make a move this offseason at guard or tackle in free agency.
