Cleveland Browns unknown No. 1 – How will Watson change the offense?

Perhaps the biggest question for the Cleveland Browns coming into 2023 isn’t really a negative.

For the last three seasons under Stefanski, the team has been limited at quarterback (I know the Baker Bros. won’t like that statement), but now with Watson, you could see a totally different offense in 2023.

In the last three years, you saw Stefanski run the ball even at times when the bock was loaded because it was the best option he had. He would utilize the pass as much as he could to get that eight defenders out of the box, but his playbook was limited.

Watson may not have looked great in his first six games with the Browns, but there are going to be a lot of growing pains. For one, the offense isn’t used to an extremely athletic quarterback.  Part of the offensive line problems was from the line and quarterback being out of sync and creating their own pressure.

In the past, we’ve seen a ton of two tight-end looks that very well could go away in 2023.  You’ll see the Browns spread the field out, and even see Nick Chubb take many handoffs out of shotgun.

As well as Jacoby Brissett managed the offense in the first 11 games of 2022, you should be hopeful to see much better in 2023.
