The biggest waiver-wire day of the 2026 league year has been processed, and the Cleveland Browns were surprisingly quiet. They held the No. 6 waiver priority, but only claimed rookie seventh-round cornerback Toriano Pride Jr., who was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills.
Waiver Day did come with a hidden benefit for Cleveland, though.
None of the Browns’ young 53-man-roster casualties were claimed on Monday afternoon, allowing a number of them to return to the team on the practice squad.

The Browns made some difficult decisions ahead of Sunday’s cutdown deadline, including waiving fan-favorite wide receiver Luke Floriea and a number of intriguing UDFA defensive linemen in Logan Fano, Khordae Sydnor, and Tyreak Sapp.
Cleveland was able to quickly sign 10 players to its practice squad, per ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi, though Floriea was noticeably not included in the initial wave:

Per league rules, the Browns will be able to add six more players to their practice squad, or seven if they draw from the International Player Pathway Program.
Their initial signings included some familiar names, such as linebacker Nathaniel Watson, cornerback D’Angelo Ross, and offensive lineman KT Leveston.
The Browns were fortunate to sneak Sydnor through waivers as he had been coming on strong late in training camp. Kole Wilson also flashed as a kick returner during the preseason and should provide some depth behind Malachi Corley, who made the initial 53-man roster as a sixth wide receiver and kick return specialist.
Speaking of wideouts, Browns fans will be anxiously awaiting news of Floriea and Gage Larvadain. Both players showed improvement this summer and would be top additions to the practice squad. They also highly productive throughout the preseason, meaning they could now be options for teams to poach on the open market as unrestricted free agents.
Defensive back Myles Bryant is another notable addition to the practice squad. The veteran was expected to compete with Myles Harden for the main nickelback role, but an early injury during training camp ended that battle before it started. Bryant remains an excellent depth piece with special teams chops who could be called up on game days.
