The Cleveland Browns would host a playoff game if the season ended today. It's been six weeks, and Todd Monken's team continues to find ways to win games — even when they seem to do everything they can to lose them.

With the almighty Los Angeles Rams juggernaut struggling, analysts and pundits have had to scrap everything they had put together for the 2027 NFL Draft. Through two months, this has been a mock-draft-shattering season. Top prospects like Arch Manning sliding down consensus big boards has created even more question marks.

What's a fact, though, is that the Browns will most likely be in the quarterback market with one of their two first-round selections.

Considering that, NFL Spin Zone's Sayre Bedinger believes Andrew Berry will continue his strong run by using two top-20 picks to bolster both sides of the ball. Bedinger mocked Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss to the Browns at No. 13 and Alabama defensive tackle Devan Thompkins at No. 17 (via the Rams).

Browns use two top-20 picks to land their next quarterback and a defensive weapon

Right now, the biggest takeaway is that, even though this still implies the banged-up Rams will have a better record than the division-leading Browns, Todd Monken's team is finally getting some respect.

Now, back to the players.

Thompkins is a versatile defensive lineman who can play multiple positions. He can be valuable if the Browns choose not to retain Isaiah McGuire or Maliek Collins. They could either line Thompkins up opposite Jared Verse on the edge or pair him with Mason Graham along the interior.

Thompkins' positional versatility and physicality could make him an enticing asset for defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg. Others, however, would rather have a specialist than someone cross-training at two positions.

As for the quarterback spot, this might be a bit more complicated. Whether the Browns keep Deshaun Watson for another bridge year isn't even the biggest question here.

On paper, Chambliss is tailor-made to run Monken's offense. He's mobile, has a strong arm, and is an athletic freak who can make defenders miss in the open field. That said, there's much more to it than meets the eye.

We're talking about a potential 25-year-old rookie who had to sue his way back into college to get a sixth year of eligibility. Also, the track record for 6-foot NFL quarterbacks isn't necessarily encouraging. Teams draft traits, not stats.

Whatever the case, it's still way too early to talk about potential draft picks. The board will change, and (hopefully) the Browns' own pick won't even be in the top 15.

For now, all that matters is that after six weeks, it looks like the football gods are finally doing the Browns a favor with the Rams' first-round pick and their own strong start to the season.
