3 Ohio prospects the Cleveland Browns are looking at
The Clevland Browns are in search of talent for the 2023 season. Here are three home grown players that the Browns could select in the draft.
The Cleveland Browns will be casting a wide net in preparations for the 2023 NFL Draft. But as they cast that wide net, the Browns could be able to find some real gems from their very own backyard. It's no secret that the state of Ohio is a hotbed for high school football. And with each passing year, more and more Ohio-grown talent is entering the NFL
Look no further than this past year's Super Bowl as an example with Both Jason and Travis Kelce, Cleveland Heights natives, starting and making major impacts for their respective teams. And according to Pro Football Reference, there were 87 players in the NFL from the state of Ohio in 2022. Let's take a look at three Ohio native prospects that could be Cleveland Browns next season.
No. 3 Tyler Scott, WR, University of Cincinnati
Tyler Scott, from Norton, Ohio, had an excellent college career for the Bearcats. With 54 catches for 899 yards and nine touchdowns, Scott was very productive for a team breaking in a new quarterback last season. The former three-star prospect turned himself into a notable talent on special teams early in his Bearcat career.
The 5-foot-10 prospect ran a very good 4.4 in the 40-yard dash while at the combine and scouts seem to like his mental makeup as well. And while he does possess that topline speed, Scott has very good hands and really excels at tracking the ball when it's in the air.
Scott appears to be the type of player that Anthony Schwartz should have been. Maybe the Browns can draft a player like Scott and finally have someone who can take the top off the opposing defense.
