It is that time of year again when the NFL offseason is underway and the Scouting Combine is right around the corner. The Cleveland Browns are without a first-round pick, but they still have a lot of draft capital to play with.

Whether that means they move up in the draft or trade those picks for a player remains to be seen, but regardless there are several key holes to fill. The biggest needs are wide receiver, defensive tackle, and an edge rusher. There are great prospects at those positions, so let's take a look at three players to keep an eye on at the scouting combine.

Mazi Smith - Defensive Tackle, Michigan

Cleveland's rush defesnse was abysmal last year, and a big reason for that was the lack of skill on the interior defensive line. They really need a big gap filler in a Jim Schwartz defense to plug those holes so the linebackers can move forward to make a stop.

Mazi Smith out of Michigan fills that need perfectly. At 6-foot-3 and 337 pounds, Smith is an absolute unit and could be a great run stuffer on the inside. He isn't going to get you many sacks with only having one during his time at Michigan, but luckily Cleveland has Myles Garrett for that. According to Pro Football Focus, he is their 35th-ranked player. The Browns' first pick is at 42 in the second round, so they may have to trade up if they really want him.

Tyler Scott - Wide Receiver, Cincinnati

Deshaun Watson needs all the weapons he can get in order for the Browns offense to thrive in 2023. They will possibly add someone in free agency or trade, but drafting a wide receiver isn't a bad idea either.

Tyler Scott out of Cincinnati makes a lot of sense as a fast, shifty guy that can stretch the field some fo the Browns. He tracks the ball well and appears to have good ball skills, and playing a quarterback as talented as Watson would only make him better. He had 54 catches for 899 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2022 and looks like a player who will only get better with more time.

Tuli Tuipulotu - Edge, USC

With the unfortunate departure of Jadeveon Clowney after a disappointing 2022 season, the Browns will need some help on the opposite edge of Myles Garrett. They are hopeful someone like Alex Wright will step up in 2023, but there are some good prospects in the draft as well.

Tuli Tuipulotu out of USC would be great on the edge in Cleveland. He had 12 sacks in 2022 at USC and displays the ability to win with speed and power. He needs a lot of work to develop properly, but the potential is there.
