facebooktwitterreddit

The Cleveland Browns defeated the Tennessee Titans in a historic comeback on the road. The game had a ton of up and downs with the most important thing being that the Browns were on top when the game to an end.

There were quite a few players who played a role in the win, a few that would be goats had the Browns lost the game. We decided to give out three game balls to the players we felt had the biggest impact on the Browns win.

Travis Benjamin

While Benjamin was very close to being a huge goat on his muffed punt, his two touchdown catches were huge for the Browns. On the first Benjamin kept himself moving while Brian Hoyer kept the play alive. When he cut back he lost his defender giving Hoyer an easy toss for a touchdown. His second TD came off of a good route run and he pulled in a tough pass and got two feet in bounds for the game winner.

Brian Hoyer

Hoyer had a solid if unspectacular game. While he finally threw his first official INT this season, he had one called back earlier in the game, Hoyer’s performance was good enough to keep the Browns in the game and later win it. Hoyer almost threw for 300 yards to go along with his three touchdowns and 1 INT. Hoyer was only sacked one time and had a QB rating of 98. Not a perfect game for him, missed a few throws including a Andrew Hawkins would be touchdown, Hoyer was clutch this week to get the win.

Ben Tate

Ben Tate carried this team early and often. The Browns offense struggled when they went away from Tate and the run game. Tate, coming back from injury, carried the ball 22 times for 123 yards. His 5.6 average was huge to keeping the Browns on the field. Tate turned runs that should be stuffed into 2 and 3 yard gains. He turned 2 and 3 yard gains into 4 or 5. Always falling forward, Tate is the reason that the Browns were in the game, along with the Titans fearful offensive play calling.
