The Browns are going to have to replace Jordan Cameron and we wouldn’t be shocked if they paid a bit more attention to the tight end spot than they do receiver. Signing Charles Clay and drafting another tight end would be a way to get impactful players that can both block and catch.

Clay played in 14 games last year with the Miami Dolphins and had a good all around season with 58 catches, over 600 yards and 3 TDs. The Dolphins didn’t use Clay as much as the Browns likely would and could look to move on from him. The Dolphins have money tied up in Mike Wallace and will need to have a plan in place to sign Ryan Tannehill in the near future.

The Browns don’t have a dynamic player like Clay. He isn’t as talented as Cameron in the passing game but he is much better as a blocker and has room for improvement. Clay hasn’t had the type of concussion issues that Cameron has either. The 6’3″ Clay is only 25 years old.

Clay is likely to look for a place where he can get more touches and the Browns have nothing currently standing in the way of that happening.
