QB Garrett Grayson Gets Tons of Attention From Browns

The Cleveland Browns have made it clear that they haven’t stopped looking under every stone to answer their quarterback problem. Garrett Grayson could be the solution to that problem in the middle rounds of the upcoming NFL Draft. The small school product had his Pro Day today and the Browns gave him a ton of attention:

Not only that but the Browns also reportedly have a private workout lined up for the QB as well:

That is a lot of time and planning as the Browns have shown they clearly want to add to their QB Depth Chart. The reportedly offered the St. Louis Rams a 1st Round pick for Sam Bradford, many link the team to Marcus Mariota in a trade up and there is hope that Johnny Manziel can make something of himself coming out of rehab.

Grayson, out of Colorado State stands at 6’2″ and 213 pounds. His size 10 inch hands are decent for a quarterback but not great. He has played in a pro style offense in college so he can come in quickly to play. His ceiling is questioned. While he is coming out of a pro offense, his decision making isn’t great and his ability to go through progressions is still a concern.

Matt “NFL Draft Scout” Miller has Grayson rated as his 5th ranked QB but ranked as 141 overall. Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota are ranked 1 and 3 while Brett Hundley and Bryce Petty 70 and 99 overall. Most do not think highly of the second tier of QBs in this draft as shown by these ratings.

Grayson could be interesting to the Browns but they have shown interest in Mariota and Petty as well. With 10 picks, the Browns can target one of them if they fall into the area GM Ray Farmer has them graded. This writer would be okay with Grayson in the 4th round.

What do you think about Garrett Grayson as an option for the Browns?
