The Cleveland Browns could be looking to upgrade their receiver position in the NFL Draft. DeVante Parker joins Amari Cooper and Kevin White as the “Big 3” receivers this year. Most believe that Cooper and White will be off the board before the Browns select at #12 but that Parker will be available. Yet it is possible that the Minnesota Vikings snatch him up 1 pick earlier at 11 to pair him with his college QB Teddy Bridgewater.
The Browns have interest in Parker as they will be bringing him in for one of their 30 pre-draft visits according to Tony Grossi’s report:
Confirmed: #Browns have pre-draft visit set w Louisville WR DeVante Parker.

The Browns are already planning to use another visit on Danny Shelton as well.
With only 30 allowed visits it is a sign that the Browns are very interested in Parker in the 1st round. The Browns will use that time to get to know Parker better and get a feel for how much they really like him. While he is rated below Cooper and White, his skill level is high.
Parker has the size, speed combo that can make for a great #1 in the NFL. His ability to high point the ball and make contested catches will make him helpful in the redzone and over the middle. His ability to block, a must in the Browns run oriented scheme, is vital.
He has already shown the ability to succeed with a stud QB like Bridgewater and last year with less than stellar quarterback play. The Browns hope that they will get better play at the QB position this year but having a player who can make tough catches should help.

Josh McCown excelled with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery while Johnny Manziel was helped greatly in college by Mike Evans. At 6’3″ Parker ran a 4.45 second 40 yard dash. He has a good vertical at 36.5 inches and a broad jump of 125 inches. He has athleticism to go along with his size.
He needs to get a little stronger and develop his route running but that is true of most/all receivers coming out of college. Last year he missed quite a few games due to a foot injury but still had 855 yards and 5 TDs. The year prior, with Bridgewater, he had 12 TDs.
