The Browns reportedly put new running backs Timothy Flanders and Jalen Parmele right to work Tuesday as Duke Johnson (hamstring), Terrance West (calf), Glenn Winston (knee) and Luke Lundy (concussion) all missed the day of practice.
In addition to giving the new guys some action, Isaiah Crowell and Shaun Draughn both saw plenty of snaps with the first-team offense.
“It’s hard when the lineup is constantly being churned like the way it is,” head coach Mike Pettine told the team’s website. “You want to be able to settle in at some point during camp. That’s important because those guys are all young, they need their reps. When they’re not out there that is a source of frustration.”

Rookie fullback Malcolm Johnson joined the running back injury brigade when he left the field midway through practice with an injured shoulder.
It is still early, and it doesn’t sound like any of the injuries are serious, but you still hate to see anyone miss time, especially Duke Johnson, for a team that plans to run the ball as much as possible this fall.
