Cleveland Browns:

Justin Gilbert suffers another injury setback:

"A day after his name was absent from the injury report for the first time in weeks, Cleveland Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert reportedly has another injury. Several media outlets reported that Gilbert had his upper right leg wrapped during the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday and the second-year player was watching practice from the sidelines."

Why Browns fans are fired up this time:

"I had every intention of writing another article that would mirror a few colleagues, but go against the vast majority of the media and talk about how going with Josh McCownwas the right choice for the Cleveland Browns. I even had a few different points that I hadn’t read anywhere else yet, but then I came to a realization that maybe I knew the whole time. This is the latest example that shows just how absolutely nuts a ton of Browns fans are."

Browns are setting the franchise back by starting Josh McCown (DPN):

"As I’m prone to do, I like to point out what I’m not saying at the beginning of an article. First, I’m not yelling for anything crazy to happen. I don’t want Mike Pettine fired, I don’t think he’s a bad coach, I don’t hate Josh McCown. Second, I’m not making some over-selling on Manziel here. I don’t think he’s some high level NFL quarterback, I don’t think he’s “arrived,” and I don’t think one game is enough to completely sell everyone that Manziel is the future of the franchise. You’ll find no hyperbole in this post. So when I say that I think the Browns are setting back the entire franchise by starting McCown now over Manziel, I’m not trying to go over the top. It’s my honest opinion based on what I hope are clear, objective facts."

Browns to induct 2015 Legends (clevelandbrowns.com):

"The Cleveland Browns will celebrate cherished alumni this weekend, highlighted by the induction of DT Don Colo (1953-1958) and DT Bob Golic (1982-1988) into the Cleveland Browns Legends program on Saturday, as well as a halftime ceremony during the team’s Week 3 contest against the Raiders on Sunday."

NFL News:

Oakland Raiders Week 3 game plan (Just Blog Baby):

"After a big win at home against the Baltimore Ravens, the Oakland Raiders are now looking for one on the road. They’re playing a Cleveland Browns team that beat them there comfortably last year 23-13. A win Sunday would be their first win on the road since they beat the Houston Texans three years ago."

Can Sam Bradford hang on to the starting job? (Inside the Iggles):

"The Philadelphia Eagles are now 0-2. Fans are frustrated and coaches are fuming. The Eagles lost by two in the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. Last week saw them rally against the Dallas Cowboys but it wasn’t enough. Another loss. Week 3 pits the Eagles against the New York Jets who have one of the best defenses in the league. It’ll be a big test of whether the team can rely on Sam Bradford to be the man responsible for getting the offense moving."

Patriots should trade for Justin Gilbert (NFL Spin Zone):

"With an offense that appears to be ready to wreak havoc throughout the entire NFL, and an impressive defensive front seven, the New England Patriots are clearly major Super Bowl contenders this season. That being said, their defensive backfield leaves plenty to be desired, especially at the cornerback position. Finding a talented player with upside who could step in and make a difference would be wise for the Patriots, and Cleveland Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert feels like an obtainable piece who could be a fit."
