Cleveland Browns:

The Cleveland Browns are done (and that’s a good thing)

"I don’t think it’s really going out on a limb at this point, or being a defeatist. The Browns are done this season. They just are. They’ve lost all heart, been emotionally drained, and physically beaten down. That being said, there will be no intentional tanking, that’s just not how the NFL works for the most part."

Cleveland Browns vs. St. Louis Rams: Film room session

"The Cleveland Browns lost another disappointing game on Sunday in falling to the St. Louis Rams, 24-6. The Browns were outplayed in all three aspects of the game and were never truly competitive. The offense turned over the ball on their first two possessions of the game, which propelled the Rams to a quick 10-0 lead. The Browns could not dig themselves out of the early hole and were outmatched by the strong play of the Rams defensive front."

NFL Power Rankings: Cleveland Browns tumbling down

"The Cleveland Browns hit the low point of the 2015 NFL season on Sunday in their loss to the St. Louis Rams. Penalties, turnovers, ineffectiveness in the red zone, inability to stop the run, add it all up and it is easy to see why the Browns came out on the wrong end of the 24-6 score. It was just one game, though, according to quarterback Josh McCown, who’s not ready to abandon ship on the season."

Ray Farmer: Cleveland Browns can’t suspend Johnny Manziel

"The Cleveland Browns would have violated NFL rules if they had suspended quarterback Johnny Manziel over the incident with his girlfriend, according to general manager Ray Farmer. The NFL alone has the authority to discipline a player for any potential personal conduct policy violations, leaving the Browns with just one option – to make Manziel inactive on game day. The Browns chose not to do that while the league handles its investigation of the Oct. 12 incident between Manziel and his girlfried, Colleen Crowley."

Ray Farmer: ‘Shame on us’ if Browns don’t get things together (ESPN)

"Ray Farmer used one word Tuesday to describe the mood in the Cleveland Browns facility. Urgency. Farmer understands the feelings about the team’s 2-5 start, but like coach Mike Pettine he’s not writing off the final nine games."

Blaming Mike Pettine’s PAT decision is also missing the point (NEOMG)

"Two or not two, that’s today’s question. But only if you’re looking to find an easy villain in another house of horrors loss along the lakefront, this one to the undefeated Denver Broncos. Pinning a 26-23 defeat on Mike Pettine is too simple. It’s also more off the mark than a Peyton Manning wobbler. Pettine’s math skills weren’t the problem Sunday."

NFL News:

Texans release backup QB Ryan Mallett after missed flight (ESPN)

"The Houston Texans released backup quarterback Ryan Mallett on Tuesday. The team re-signed quarterback T.J. Yates, who was a free agent, a league source told ESPN. Mallett was late for meetings Saturday and blamed his tardiness on traffic. He then missed the team’s charter flight to South Florida. He had to fly commercial to join the team for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. He did not play."

Rowdy Rams fans greet NFL executives at St. Louis hearing (NFL.com)

"A loud and often rowdy crowd greeted NFL executives Tuesday as St. Louis Rams fans at a public hearing made their case for keeping the team in Missouri amid talk of a relocation. About 1,500 people, many wearing Rams jerseys, stood and chanted “St. Louis Rams!” as NFL executives walked onto the Peabody Opera House stage. The crowd cheered when Dave Peacock, co-leader of the effort to build a new riverfront stadium in St. Louis, was briefly introduced. Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff received scattered boos."

Ben Roethlisberger expected to start Sunday (FanSided)

"The game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, could very well determine the AFC North if the Bengals come out of the game with a win. After losing on the road this past week, the Steelers are almost in a must-win situation if they want to stay in their division race. The good news for the Steelers, is that it sounds like they will finally have quarterback Ben Roethlisberger back on the field and ready to go against the undefeated Bengals. Speaking to the team’s website, Mike Tomlin said that Roethlisberger is preparing to play this week."
