Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers: Film Room Session

The Browns are working from a gun trips right formation. The Steelers have one single high safety and are playing a soft zone coverage based on their alignment. Taylor Gabriel, who is the middle receiver in the trips set, runs a seam route.

Manziel is quick and decisive in his drop back and knows exactly where to deliver the ball off of his plant step. Gabriel appears to be covered by the zone coverage, but Manziel does a good job of throwing to the open spot in the zone where Gabriel will break open. Barnidge is also running open down the middle of the field.

Gabriel continues to run his seam route and Manziel delivers an accurate ball in between the soft spot of the zone coverage. Manziel showed decisiveness in reading the defense and knowing what routes his receivers were running. Manziel does a good job of throwing to the opening of the zone to get another big completion.
