Tramon Williams

Age: 32

Experience: 9 years

Contract status: Free agent 2018

The Browns signed veteran cornerback Tramon Williams from Green Bay last offseason as a free agent. Williams was brought in to fill the absence of Buster Skrine and play a key number No. 2 cornerback role as Justin Gilbert was in no position to take over as a starter.

The 32-year-old Williams brought the Browns leadership and experience from being a Super Bowl champion with the Packers. With the loss of Joe Haden for a majority of the season, Williams was pressed into being the team’s top corner, a role in which he struggled against opposing No. 1 wire receivers. However, Williams should enjoy a steady second season with the Browns as he should have a healthy Haden back on the field.

2016 Outlook:

Williams will return to his role of being the team’s No. 2 corner opposite Haden. Williams should rediscover his consistency by returning to the role that made him a valuable part of the Green Bay Packers playoff defensive units.

C. In a small sample size when playing opposite Joe Haden, Williams appeared to be a solid veteran signing for the Browns. However, Williams played in a role he wasn’t accustom to as his play suffered.. CB. Cleveland Browns. TRAMON WILLIAMS
